About Cherie Burris

Cherie has loved art since a young girl.  At 11 years old while vacationing at her grandmother's, she admired an oil painting by her great grandfather, a self taught artist, and proceeded to sit down and sketch his painting.  With family admiring her rendition, her grandmother felt she had a natural talent.  She began portrait sketching for family and friends in High School.  She continued sketching family portraits into her 20's and 30's.  Cherie has been watercolor painting since 2009.  Family, friends and clients have commissioned her to paint more than 40 paintings on various themes in recent years.

Cherie's artwork is displayed at local art festivals, galleries, juried shows and private and corporate collections.  Her artwork is regularly exhibited at Redlands Art Association Gallery and Yucaipa Uptown Gallery.  Her artwork has been displayed at San Bernardino Art Association Gallery, Brandon Gallery, Fallbrook Art Association Gallery,  Riverside Art Museum, Yucaipa Performing Arts Center and most recently at Las Laguna on-line Gallery.  She's been a featured artist at Yucaipa City Hall.

Her services include selling original paintings, prints, and commission paintings.  Included in the purchase of a painting, Cherie gives you a poem she has written for that particular painting.

Artist Statement

I delight in sharing my passion of artistic expression to uplift and inspire others.  Eclectic in subject matter, I wish to convey a glimpse of God's beautiful handiwork: people, scenery, harvest, animals and flowers.  My poetry speaks from my heart while my art speaks of poetry in form.
